Leigh Merrigan
Thinks he is the boss
Leigh Merrigan started his landscaping apprenticeship at age 18 after finishing Year 12 at St Johns College in Dandenong. Following in his fathers footsteps he worked by his side for many years before deciding to try his hand at concreting which he then began incorporating into his love of landscaping. As the years passed (and like most boys) Leigh always loved playing with diggers, so it was inevitable that he would end up incorporating excavation into his repertoire. In 2019, Leigh took over the reigns of the business after more than 20 years of working together with his father and restructuring the core services to include Excavation and Concreting.
Casey Merrigan
The actual boss
Casey Merrigan is the bookkeeper and marketing guru of Blue Hills Landscape. Although her primary profession is a nurse, she works on a part time basis to keep the financial side of the business in order (as well as keeping all of the boys in line.) Thankfully, this husband and wife team work beautifully together as they keep to their own lanes of specialty. Casey cant seem to keep a plant alive and thus, has no input on the horticultural element of the business - whilst Leigh is better on a shovel than a computer, so leaves the business side of things to Casey.
Nathan 'Nate' Furze
Nathan Furze has been landscaping for over 10 years. He completed his apprenticeship in 2011 under Leigh’s mentorship in both landscaping and concreting. After receiving his qualification, Nathan branched out and went on to team leader roles and even started his own business, before returning to work with Leigh. Nathan has had experience with all kinds of landscaping in both domestic and commercial capacities. Nathan likes long walks on beach and enjoys the occasional somersby.
Ian Merrigan
The OG
Blue HIlls Landscape was created in 1975. Ian and his mate Ivan, who has since tragically passed, were an incomparable team, who together built a brilliant foundation and body of quality driven work with impeccable customer service which has been maintained through to this day
After handing the business down to his son Leigh, Ian subsequently hung up his landscaping boots (but will often show up on sites to lend a hand when he runs out of things to do at his own place!) to spend more time caravanning and enjoying his retirement with his beautiful wife, Liz.
Fletcher Merrigan
Fletcher Merrigan is the eldest son of Leigh and Casey. Clients will often see Fletch show up on site during his school holidays to help labour on the jobs. With the same work ethic as his dad and grandfather, Fletch likes to get outside and learn the ins and outs of landscaping. With a keen interest in AFL and Basketball, he has no idea what he would like to do when he finishes school - but if history decides to repeat itself - you may see him leading the charge in the future.
